What I find remarkable is that the MVC temp tag system does not report transactions to Treasury. If every fake tag represents the sale of an auto, then every such sale should be generating sales tax. Why are the tax folks not all over this?
I didn't know this was a thing! My family and I were coming back from Cape May a few weeks ago when about 7 cars raced past us up the GSP. I called 911 and reported them all right away, but was disappointed we made it the rest of the way home without seeing anyone pulled over.
